Getting started with neurofeedback

Step 1

Thoroughly read through the information on this website, including cost and scheduling requirements.

Step 2

If you’re interested in neurofeedback training as explained on the website, reach out to Whitney via this sites’ contact page. Whitney will promptly let you know whether she currently has openings or will add you to her waitlist. Note: All neurofeedback clients must be in active therapy to participate in neurofeedback.

Step 3

Whitney will reach out via email when your name makes it to the top of the waitlist. In this email, she will let you know which times are available to ensure that her current openings will work with your schedule. If the available times don’t work for you, you will remain at the top of the waitlist and Whitney will let you know when new times become available.

This initial email will also include an assessment packet for you to complete and email back if the available times work for you. Once Whitney reviews your paperwork, you will set up an hour-long online assessment session where you will review the paperwork, discuss any questions you have regarding neurofeedback, and determine whether you are a good candidate for neurofeedback. This is the point at which you and Whitney will determine which type of neurofeedback is best for you: coherence training, which requires a QEEG to guide the training or arousal training, which does not require a QEEG.

Step 4

After your assessment session (Step 3), it will be time to schedule your QEEG. Whitney will send you special instructions before your appointment and explain the process before getting started. This appointment will take about an hour. Once your QEEG is done, Whitney will work with Dr. Coben regarding the analysis and protocol selection. Once this is complete, you will be ready to begin your twice per week neurofeedback training sessions. Note: Each QEEG provides a protocol that will be used for approximately 15 sessions. If you decide to continue with neurofeedback, repeat QEEGs will be required.
