Arousal Training

Arousal/Amplitude training seeks to increase or decrease the amplitude of certain brain waves at specific sites on the surface of your brain. Arousal training is a therapeutic model and type of amplitude training that centers around the goal of regulating arousal of the nervous system.

It is common for individuals who have experienced trauma to experience a variety of symptoms of poorly regulated arousal. This includes symptoms of overarousal (such as anxiety, tension, or a busy mind) and/or underarousal (such as poor concentration, low mood, or forgetfulness). Neurofeedback can help regulate these states of under- & overarousal.

Sebern Fisher and many other neurofeedback practitioners specialize only in amplitude training. Whitney’s work with arousal training has been deeply influenced by Sebern’s mentorship. Check out the resources page to learn more about Sebern Fisher’s work.
